November always brings about elections, and this year is no different. With a few changes to the structure and schedule of elections this year, Wisconsin Theta has elected their newest Executive Board. Congratulations to everyone who ran, and especially to those who lost races, the chapter had hard decisions for all the contested elections. Thanks are in order for Brother Lucas Frey’s work as elections chair, by all accounts this has been the smoothest year of elections in recent memory.
Elected President for the upcoming year is Matthew “Tim” Nigh, a senior double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems. Brother Nigh has held many positions in and out of SigEp over his years at UW-Platteville, and is ready to bring that knowledge to table. Congratulations, Brother Nigh.
Max Sagen has been elected Vice President of Programming. Brother Sagen is an Industrial Engineering Senior, and has plans to bring back weekly house events for the betterment of the Chapter. Congratulations, Brother Sagen.
Elected Vice President of Finance, Ryan Mohr is a Sophomore Engineering Physics major. Brother Mohr’s goals for his term are to simplify payments for brothers and make tracking of payments easier for all involved brothers. Brother Mohr also seeks to improve the position through use of technology. Congratulations, Brother Mohr.
Vice President of Member Development will be Dominick Perry, a Junior majoring in Professional Writing. Brother Perry has plans to try many new events and tools to increase member retention through increased interest. Brother Perry also seeks to improve big brother/little brother relationships by use of trainings to strengthen the bonds between brothers. Congratulations, Brother Perry
Dawson VanWinkle has been elected as Vice President of recruitment. Brother VanWinkle is a Sophomore Criminal Justice Major whose recruitment goals are increased visibility. Brother VanWinkle is seeking to increase recruitment by expanding our recruitment methods outside the Balanced Man Scholarship, and providing more free input on Potential New Members from the chapter. Elected Vice President of the Learning Community (previously VP of Chapter Development), Hayden Bittinger is a Freshman History Education major. Brother Bittinger’s goals for the position are to expand upon our community service opportunities, bring in more Faculty fellows, and work more closely with brothers to keep grades up. Congratulations, Brother Bittinger.
Vice President of Communications will be myself, Seth Reilly. I am a Freshman Engineering Physics Major. I intend to better the chapter through improved social media use and working cooperatively with Recruitment personnel to better increase our presence on campus.
Jacob Ubl has been elected Chaplain for the upcoming year. Brother Ubl is a Junior year Mechanical Engineering major, and plans to bring the chapter up through adding incentives for making grades, and working to preemptively solve issues between brothers before they can escalate. Brother Ubl also seeks to improve feedback systems within the chapter for the betterment of all brothers. Congratulations, Brother Ubl.
This Year’s Standards board will consist of Robby Oakley, a Senior Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems major; Kyle Samann, a Senior Civil Engineering major; Ian Seidler, a Freshman Software Engineering major; Jace Joiner, a Freshman Software Engineering major; and alternate Nick Hun, a Junior year Business major. Congratulations Brothers Oakley, Samann, Seidler, Joiner, and Hun.
